Renovating a decades-old building to meet modern life-safety, accessibility, and energy standards required integrating new systems into the existing structure while preserving its integrity. Careful design planning ensures efficient unit layouts, ADA-compliant shared spaces, and durable, low-maintenance finishes suitable for long-term supportive housing. With its small scale and veteran-focused mission, MLK House creates a welcoming, service-oriented environment while making meaningful use of a previously vacant property.
